Staff Reporter ISLAMABAD: While Indian leadership always blames Pakistan whenever any terrorist activity takes place in India, a network of Indian army officers involved in spreading militancy has been unveiled by the Indian interrogators.
Sources have disclosed that Pakistani authorities are also probing the connections of recent terrorist activities inside Pakistan with Indian serving army officers' network as the government admitted that foreign hands are involved in bomb blasts in Pakistan.
It is also likely that the government of Pakistan would ask the Indian government through diplomatic channels about the investigation report of this dangerous network.
According to sources the network, comprising of serving Indian army officers, is allegedly involved in terrorist activities, particularly against Indian Muslims.
Pakistan and India often indulge in the 'blame game' over terrorist activities.
The Indian network is also operational in Indian Held Kashmir where it supports those Indian army officers who are involved in violence against Kashmiris.
According to reports, the Indian Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested more suspects in connection with the Malegaon blasts and other terrorist activities in which some Indian army officers were also nabbed. Interrogation is being carried out in order to bust the whole network. The arrested army officers include Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit (a serving officer) and Colonel (Retired) S S Raikar, who served as principal of the Bhonsala Military School (BMS), Nashik. Initial investigations revealed that at least six members of this group had attended a meeting convened by Sadhvi Pragnya at the BMS, 15 days before the Malegaon blast.
Army is regarded as most prestigious organization and its services for the nation are above any doubt or suspicion. However, the recent surfacing of network of serving Indian army officers in terrorist activities against Muslim minority has shattered the image of Indian armed forces. The minorities have particularly lost trust in the Indian armed forces.
Indian ATS Chief Hemant Karkare has also disclosed that they had arrested three more suspects in connection with the Malegaon blasts including an alleged financer of the group.
Those arrested include Ajay Raikar, who allegedly managed the financial affairs of the entire operation.
The other two nabbed are Rakesh Dhavade and Jagdish Mhatre who were involved in procuring weapons for the operation. In the same regard Police recovered some foreign-made weapons including Smith & Wesson, Luger, .36 revolvers and 190 live cartridges. With the recent arrests, the total number of arrestees in the Malegaon blasts case has gone up to eight.
The others arrested earlier are: Sadhvi (Hindu missionary) Pragnya Singh Thakur, Shyamlal Sahu, Shivnarain Singh Kalsagra, Sameer Kulkarni and Ramesh Upadhyay.
