The moral of Gaza story

Once in a month or two when I get up in the morning, a close by loud speaker cries out about a sudden death of a neighbour or a distant resident of the area to the people to attend the burial in the graveyard at a specified time. The friends and other residents of the area get together to arrange the burial and pay the last tribute to the deceased. I was wondering how poor Palestinians must be coping up at Gaza where at least one hundred men, women, and children are dying: with everyday bombing from air, ground, and sea. The number of deaths must be extremely painful and exhausting to bury their dead. They must be organizing large groups of people in different shifts to manage. I also wonder whether their killers, the Israelis realise such a situation and suffering by the relatives and friends of these victims.

My mind also goes back to 1940’s when Hitler decided to punish Jews for their disloyalty to him and collaborations with his enemies. I am sure the Jews of that period must be facing the same problems as the Palestinians are facing today. I often wonder if the Jews of Israel remember those days of Holocaust. I am sure a few history books must be lying in their houses to remind them of those horrible days. There may be many old people still living to relate them the stories of atrocities confronted by them and their children, by Hitler’s men.

To me the massacre in Gaza smells like the human remains in gas chambers which Hitler enjoyed during the days of Holocaust. Israeli leadership is committing similar crime, while bombing the defenceless Palestinians and killing men, women, and children. They are doing exactly the same as Hitler did to their women and children. They seem to have learned nothing from the Holocaust experience and are following the path pursued by Hitler. He was putting defenceless Jews to prison on their way to Gas chambers. Israel is surrounding the defenceless Palestinians at Gaza to commit the same crime in the same manner.

The main excuse for starting this operation was firing Hamas’s few rockets to Israel. It would be surprising to note that no casualty has been reported because of these rocket attacks except a few injured, whereas 850 Palestinians, men women, and children have died so far and several hundred brutally injured through the bombing of Israel. The shame is not only on Israel to use F-16 and Tanks on poor pedestrians or simple foot soldiers but on Americans who encourage and provide protection to the barbarians who are committing these inhuman attacks. The world is watching this Holocaust with none or very little concern. They think their duty is only to plan medicine, food and sympathy for the poor victims. Instead of punishing the criminals, they encourage them to continue. The United Nation’s resolution has been made a mockery by Israel because of the explicit American and British support. I don’t know for how long nature will be tolerating this savagery on his people. Let it be known that the longer it is, the severest will be the punishment in the end. Israelis may have to have a new appraisal about their role. Power is not ever-lasting. It has been changing hands so much and at times so frequent that the human brain has failed to unfold this mystery. However, the friendship and piety has shown great attachment amongst human-beings where only trust and reliability counts in the long run. If six million are living amongst two hundred million around them, it is advisable for them to live as friends. They cannot afford to make enemies with such an overwhelming majority. It will show its strength if not today but maybe tomorrow or even after two hundred years.

People with awareness and genius keep an eye on their past history to review their future. South Africa was a country of Black Africans, ruled by Portuguese in the 15th Cen. It changed hands with Dutch and British to rule the poor black majority for centuries. The blacks suffered even the disgrace of apartheid in the hands of a handful of whites for a long time. Ultimately the majority prevailed but the intelligent minority compromised to live as equals and are enjoying the same status with more respect with the new collaboration and democracy. The British in India and Pakistan, the Dutch in Indonesia, and the Americans in Vietnam, and many others have left to leave the land to the original owners or decided to live with them as friends and co-developers. Today, due to communication, education, and advancement, the world has become a global village where everybody knows everybody and lives with each other as good and sensible village mates.

The United States and the British leadership have been responsible to institute criminality when the Jews were first planted in Palestine after World War II. They are unfortunately still at their back to continue the atrocities on the Palestinians. However, Israel has to themselves differentiate between what is good and bad for them and for their coming generations, to live in peace with the actual land owners. The people of United States, who could not share even the bus seats and lavatories with blacks, have today reconciled to live as equals with all equal rights. In spite of having a clear white majority, they had to realise the strength of slaves and give them the rights to sit with them as equals lest they lose the authority of command over them. Today there is a black president in United States. The British have accepted all people of Common Wealth to reside as equal citizens in England.

To accept ones mistake is a bliss and to plead guilty of one’s crime has considerable allowance towards the judgement and punishment. The United States happened to apply this rule in Iraq and is ultimately leaving that country amongst the mixed feeling of hate and forgiveness from Iraqis. Time is the biggest healer and complete remission may be an option one day with Iraq. I personally think a pair of shoes thrown at Bush with spite, should be considered enough disgrace and punishment for all that the America had done to Iraq. Immigrants to Australia and USA are now in full control of these countries and peace prevails everywhere with the original inhabitants. The USA and Australia have a unique position who despite annihilating the Red Indians and Aborigines are enjoying reconciliatory behaviour from this small minority. Palestinians have a different equation. They are in majority and Israel cannot afford to misbehave with them. They have to learn to live with them otherwise one day they may be exterminated themselves. Let the sleeping Arabs sleep and take it as blessing for you; but if you force them to wake up from their nightmare, there will be no place for Jews or their western friends in this part of the world.

Husni Mubarak, kings of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the defeated Iraq may not be there for a very long time to disregard the atrocities committed on their Arab brothers. Many revolutionaries may rise to ask questions about your occupation of the Arab land and such a gruesome behaviour. To avoid that eventuality it is advisable for you to devise a system to live as friends with equal rights and respect for each other.
