While watching news that US & NATO shipments coming into Afghanistan are attacked by Taliban, the first thing that stuck my mind is whether outgoing US shipment (a pipeline for heroin smuggling) from Afghanistan will be attacked or not, which will be a blessing for entire world.
According to some reports and media personnel, since US forces are sending back their repairable and damaged military equipment back to United States, to ensure that their technology is not transferred to some other country. In the same shipments drugs are coming out of Afghanistan very easily. Back in 2001 when Taliban government practically banned the production and trading of Opium (Heroin) in Afghanistan, it was not less than kicking CIA's appetite, since drug business had been their prime source of income to buy and supply weapons undercover.
From statistics it's clear that Taliban's period was the time when world had been able to get rid of Heroin drugs, but just after the US invasion in Afghanistan, death merchants were once again active to start producing and trading Opium (heroin) and since then it is increasing day by day. Over the years CIA has streamlined their pipeline for supplying drugs by utilizing US Aviation and their military bases around the world. But the important thing to note here is that today United States of America itself has become the victim of drugs. In many cases it appeared that US local police worked as a local distributor of Cocaine & Heroin for CIA, i.e why despite spending millions of dollars on US drug war, they have not been able to save themselves. Drug business in Afghanistan is a replay of Vietnam Era Drug dealing.
Drugs mainly heroin were being smuggled into United States in the body of dead soldiers from Vietnam in late 1960 and early 70's (For complete details please read book CIA Involvement in Drug Trade). Who knows if it's not happening today in Afghanistan. Russia has also accused the US military of involvement in the heroin trafficking from Afghanistan to Europe. The Vesti channel's report from Afghanistan said that drugs from Afghanistan were smuggled by American transport aircraft to the US airbases Ganci in Kyrgyzstan and Incirlik in Turkey. Like other countries Pakistan itself is a victim of heroin trade, as it is flourishing like hell after the US invasion in Afghanistan.
According to UN estimates there are around 1.5 million heroin addicts in Pakistan. Until and unless the mother monster behind the drug trade, CIA is kicked out from drugs producing countries like Afghanistan, it is impossible to eradicate drug trade from the region and in entire world.
