Describing Pakistan as "Somalia of South Asia", Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari on Tuesday said the terror attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore is a result of Pakistan's long-standing policy of ceding its territory to fundamentalists and the Taliban.

As expected, India has never been disappointing when it comes to undermining Pakistan, especially given the opportunity and especially by people like Tiwari who are too vocal for their own good. One wonders that if they could put so much time and effort into playing a constructive rather than a damaging role, they would actually be able to make a difference. However, India has once again expressed its animosity and hostility towards Pakistan very publically.
Manish Tewari has earned many kudos for his "smart handling" of the media as the new spokesperson of the Congress party. However, his latest tips on nuclear terrorism were the most foolish and left many of his senior colleagues fuming. According to the Indian media, Tewari was red-faced when the journals asked him about his statements. Later party sources said he was rebuked by senior leaders.
It seems that the Congress spokesperson is always quick to comment on issues, especially if they do not concern him. On a sex scandal CD involving Gujarat Congress chief Bharatsinh Solanki, which rocked the state of Gujrat, and most of the state Congress leaders chose to remain silent on the issue, Tiwari said: "The CD is totally doctored and morphed and there is not an iota of truth in it". He lent further rationality to the scandal by adding what almost sounded like praise: "The Gujarat unit of the BJP seems to have acquired a sort of expertise, hence it is hardly surprising that they have stooped so low to tarnish the image of their adversaries," he said.
Sonia Gandhi's Congress party has number of legal luminaries of all hues and sizes. Starting from the Law minister H R Bhardwaj to Kapil Sibal to Manu Singhvi to now disowned Devil Advocate R K Anandto nowaday's most visible advocate of the Congress 'Dynasty' Manish Tiwari. One job all these great 'Advocates' relish doing is: Being spokesman for the Dynasty. Louder the better. Facts, Truth, Probity and now even very basic and common sense is overlooked when making a statement. Congress's spokesperson Manish Tiwari is a lawyer by profession and nowadays chief model of 'foot in mouth' disease.
The latest of Tewari's feat was exposing Rahul Gandhi's ignorance as innocence, baring the Congress' Achilles heel. Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari made a fool of himself with a retort that has sure put his party to shame by hitting out after Modi's jab at Rahul and saying that, "It's true that Narendra Modi is from ocean but he is a 'piranha'. Manish Tiwari's smart-ass retort would have carried its zing but for a simple problem - the piranha are fresh water fish and not ocean fish. So the statement made by the above mentioned, eloquent and intellectually challenged Congress spokesperson about Pakistan, does not carry any significance except that he has lived up to his well deserved reputation of being loud and ludicrous and that his erudition expands beyond Juvenile Fiction inside his country to obnoxious statements made towards other countries.
