The Theme And Essence Of Kashmir Freedom Struggle

By Dr Javeria Masood

Kashmir, once a symbol of stunningly beautiful landscapes with snow covered world's highest mountains. Virtually a Paradise has now become an almost chaotic topic in many ways. There are lot of questions arising in common man's mind about Kashmir, Kashmiris , their future and Freedom Struggle. Lot of reasons from 9/11 attack, Pakistan current crisis, India's old adamancies and even Kashmiris chameleon behaviour has really turned this topic to chaotic theory and has made many Pro Freedom Kashmiri apprehensive about fate of Freedom Struggle. This question arises in many minds that these factors lead to 'The End' of struggle?

This disappointing position shakes our minds. Does the wangling and wrangling of India really gona overtake sacrifices of Kashmiris for their just Right of Freedom. Many more such haunting thoughts makes one pessimistic about future of Kashmir Freedom.

But wandering through these dark clouds, a ray of hope appears and vanishes all murkiness strengthening in this proverb that every cloud has a silver lining. This sunray in our struggle in spite of apparent darkness is the ever lasting. Absolute verity and the blood of martyrs and sacrifices of their families form basis of Kashmir Freedom Struggle. Whatever the world's scenario become, how much antipathetic and adverse the conditions turn into, even if present genertaion of Kashmiris back out from the struggle falling prey to India's trap all this bamboozlement cant change the facts. Even if India by hook or crook manages to pull the wool over the Kashmir issue the facts will always remain same. Nature will follow its rule it has written them down and so none can change them.

I am so confident in making this statement because the theme and essence of Kashmir Freedom Struggle goes with principles of nature. History is evident that nature never let any truth holding effort or struggle to get suppressed in any case. At one point it rose annihilating all its opponents and always paid back to sacrifices of people who contirbuted in it.

We have a lot of examples where we can witness that nature has its own plan and principles and it follows them regardless of so called analysts and opinion makers. During futile rather embryonic periods it nourishes and grooms her plans and when the time becomes appropriate it strikes all odds with final death blow. One example before our eyes is creation of Pakistan by a person who in his 40 yrs political career advocated Hindu-Muslim unity for 33 years is really amazing that congress was hit by the man they were least expecting. and best example is of Prophet Moses (Peace Be Upon Him) brought up in Pharaoh's house. Similarly Nelson Mandela's stand against apartheid with torture of imprisonment for 27 years ultimately paid his nation the reward. American and French Revolutions are few other examples. All these examples have one thing common and that is the truth they were holding in their Struggles which gained further strength with the sacrifices of devoted souls. So nature always stand with truth and its decision is always in favour of righteous and oppressed people.

I am deliberately using word nature instead of Allah because this believe doesn't apply to us only but it is a universal rule which Allah almighty has made common for everyone. Anyone who is striving for a right cause is destined to win according to this universal law.

I absolutely find no reason to feel depressed or pessimistic about Freedom of Kashmir in this apparent fake darkness. Nature who makes her plan go into dormancy for the time being to re-strengthen and drill a cause to stand high if that cause is holding truth in it. This brief latent period between stimulus and reaction is sometimes necessary so that the people involved in it can witness and realize the worth of that struggle and get sentient of it. Kashmir Freedom can b delayed for a little time as probably nature is teaching us to realize worth of it rightly but it is destined. These ups and downs always come in the course of a big cause so that people involved in it can fully get conscious and cognizant of its importance.

Thousands of martyrs ignited the flame of freedom with their blood and no matter how strong the wind of opposition is - it will never blow out. Nothing can get wrong when it comes to Kashmir Struggle. Even if all present Kashmiris give up, Kashmir will still get Freedom, its destined, its nature's law Truth is bound to Prevail in all circumstances. So even if our generation let go this issue in dormancy, next generation or next to next generation will take up this struggle because the intrinsic truth and just cause in this struggle won't let all generations to live in slumberence. One of them will surely rise and will take this story to happy end.

Do we want to take this honour or we want history to forget our names or written in the names of pusillanimous breed, easily cry cravening such a noble cause? Nature doesn't change its principles, it has to make its decision. It is only waiting to adorn the shoulder of courageous generation with laurels of freedom. Decision is ours.
