* FM says world believes Pakistan was not involved in Mumbai attacks
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan was not involved in the Mumbai terror attacks, but that Islamabad has substantial evidence to prove New Delhi was behind the wave of terrorist attacks sweeping the country.
In an interview with an Arab TV channel, the foreign minister said the international community also supported the stance that Pakistan was not involved in last year's terrorist attacks on Mumbai.
"Now, it has been admitted globally that Pakistan was not involved in the Mumbai terrorist attacks," Qureshi said. "We have concrete evidence regarding Indian involvement in terror activities in Pakistan," the foreign minister said.
Qureshi said that the Mumbai attacks were plotted by elements that wished to sabotage Indo-Pak relations. "Economic progress is vital to counter extremism in the region," he said.
Qureshi also urged the international community to press India to understand that there was no alternative to dialogue to establish sustainable peace in the region.
At least 170 people had died in coordinated shooting and bomb attacks on India's financial hub on November 26 last year. All but one of the 10 attackers, Ajmal Kasab, had died in the attacks. app
