Bureau Report
New Delhi-India's External Affairs Minister S.M Krishna on Thursday confirmed indirectly that Indian intelligence agency Rsearch & Analysis Wing (R&AW) was definitely running a parallel government in India and whatever the RAW does, should not be considered as an act of the Indian government.
Dubbing R&AW's affairs as private matters, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna said that Pakistan should draw a line between government matters and private affairs.
"Government of India has nothing to do with IPL, on selection of players and various exercises that are connected with it. So, Pakistan will have to draw a line between where Government of India is connected and where Government of India is an actor," he said.
Krishna said this when reporters sought his comments on Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik's remarks that the manner in which the players were "insulted" showed that India was not serious about the peace process.
The Minister's remarks came when the international media reports confirmed that Indian intelligence agency R&AW was behind the plan that led to the axing of all the 11 Pakistani players Tuesday from the hi-fi and glamorous cricket tournament named as Indian Premier League (IPL). The international media reports, including the reports appearing even in Indian media on Wednesday and Thursday exposed clearly that Indian intelligence officials of RAW's underworld mafia wing, with the help of IPL chief Lalit Modi organized the entire conspiracy to ensure a humiliated exclusion of Pakistani players from the IPL's 2010 session . with these media reports standing intact with no official denial to either of them by the Indian
government, the External Affairs' Minister's statement dubbing whatever happened regarding the humiliation of Pakistani cricket stars at the IPL auction had nothing to do with the Indian government, he confirmed that R&AW was not part of Indian government and the agency was in fact running a parallel government.
