Brahmins enemies of subcontinent people, says Indian writer

LAHORE, May 23: Indian writer and editor of the Dalit Voice V T Raj Shekar said here on Sunday the high-class Hindus were responsible for the India-Pakistan differences.

"I am in Pakistan to inform you the three per cent Brahmins in India have taken the Dalits and the minorities, including Muslims and Sikhs, hostages, and are responsible for the misery of the entire sub-continent population," he said while delivering a lecture at Mansoora on the problems being faced by Indian Dalits.

Mr Shekar, who also expressed his views on Islam, was accompanied by Dr Rajo Thomas from Kerala. Jamaat secretary-general Liaquat Baloch welcomed the Indian writer.

Mr Shekar said though Indian Muslims were 20 per cent of the total Indian population, they were being deliberately kept backward there.

He said he was pleased to see that Pakistan was economically better off than India although there was much propaganda about the country being on the verge of collapse.

He said he had talked to the minorities in Pakistan, including the Hindus, who were happy for being given due respect in this country.
