Yeh Hum Naheen – Say No To Terrorism

After the attempted bombing of the New York Times Square by a Pakistani-American, Pakistanis all over the world feel insecure and are anticipating hate crimes and discrimination against them. That is because now the entire world, led by the Western media, will promptly equate 'Pakistani' with 'terrorist'. But THIS IS NOT US.

It is not the destiny of Pakistan to respond to whatever accusations or insults that are hurled at us. It is not the destiny of Pakistan to respond and not act. THIS IS NOT US.

It is not the destiny of Pakistan to be cowed down or terrorised by Islamic fundamentalists. It is not the destiny of Pakistan to have their global image defined and represented by an extremist minority that brings shame to us and threatens our cities and villages.

Pakistanis are not terrorists. 'Yeh Hum Naheen' means 'This is not us' in Urdu.

It is the duty and obligation of every Pakistani to make it clear to the entire world that this is not us; that we value life, liberty and happiness; that the murder of one human being is the murder of humanity; that we are fighting on the frontlines of the War on Terror AGAINST the very terrorists who are now 'succeeding' in defaming us.

THIS is Pakistan. This is who we are.

We are not terrorists. We are not extremists.

We are PAKISTANIS.

Pakistan Zindabad.
