* Five wanted terrorists arrested in Bajaur Agency
HANGU: At least 12 Taliban were killed when fighter jets pounded their hideouts in Orakzai Agency on Sunday, security sources said.
The sources told Daily Times that the fighter jets targeted Taliban hideouts in Mamozai, Khadezai, Molazai, Dabori and Alikhel areas of Upper Orakzai, killing 12 Taliban and inuring another 10.
Four terrorist hideouts were destroyed in the strikes as well.
Separately, two security forces personnel were injured in a landmine blast in Mashti Meela area of Lower Orakzai.
Meanwhile in Bajaur Agency, the security forces and volunteers of a tribal lashkar arrested five wanted Taliban, sources said. They said the Taliban were arrested from Bindari area of Mamoond tehsil.
The arrested Taliban were identified as Inayatullah, Zakirullah, Muhammad Faiz, Rasool Khan and Muhammadullah. Also, the political administration gave the Samsi tribe a two-day deadline to expel terrorists from their area, else strict action would be taken against the tribe. Also on Sunday, National Assembly member from Bajaur Agency Syed Akhunzada Chatan called upon the government to take steps to make changes in the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR).
Addressing a press conference, he demanded the government compensate the people whose houses had been damaged during the military operation in the agency.
