An article by Bharat Verma in Indian Defense Review (Why China is wooing the jihadis, and what India should do, 2010.10.12) makes a long drawn out case against China for wooing Muslim extremist jihadis and 'rogue' communist regimes like North Korea and Myanmar. Of course the main emphasis is on Pakistan's relationship with China, the 'dreadful implications' of Chinese access to Pakistan's Gwadar port ( built with Chinese support) and the clever game being played by China to outfox the west through creating threats of Islamic militancy and giving technology to communist regimes. Such thoughts are music for western ears who want India to do exactly what Mr Verma is suggesting-malign and confront China and generally be a western poodle.
