Woman kills Bihar MLA after accusing him of sexual assault

Sitting BJP MLA from Purnea Raj Kishore Kesri was stabbed to death by a woman visitor at his residence on Tuesday morning.

Kesri was meeting visitors when he was attacked.

As she came nearer him, the woman began stabbing the MLA with a knife. She stabbed him repeatedly injuring him critically, the police said. His spleen was severely damaged which led to his death, the police said.

This schoolteacher - Rupam Pathak - had brought allegations of sexual assault against the MLA earlier in the year.

The rape charge against Kesri was being investigated by Khazanchihat police station in-charge Arvind Kumar, while the area DSP S S Thakur was made the supervising officer in the high profile case, Kumar said.
